Happy Holidays!


A catchall post for a variety of holidays for the R2-crew, set in the penthouse. Maybe you're decorating, and watching Anna set up nativity scenes faster than Mephisto can take them back down. Or maybe you're making holiday cookies, or eating a large meal (maybe even thanksgiving dinner???). Multi-Denominational Holiday party, that Anna has somehow broken Riley out of Juvie for, yowling about the first-amendment, which she's never studied? Or maybe it's time to just spend with friends and family, and play mean tricks on each other. Watch out for the Mistletoe!

Oh...

[Christine's voice is barely above a whisper as she releases the key and the music box begins to play. She's always adored music boxes, but she had never possibly imagined having one made to represent her.]

It's beautiful... You both did so wonderful, I...

[Never one to hide her own feelings, Christine is definitely tearing up.]

You are very welcome. If you ever want to change the song, just let us know, Loki had a lot of fun with that part in particular.

[Sigyn smiles, setting her present aside and opening her arms up for a hug.]

[Christine carefully sets hers aside too and then all but jumps into Sigyn's arms, squeezing her tight around the middle.]

Did it, um, embarrass you? I sorta called you a mom...

[Sigyn gives a squeeze of her own, holding tightly around her shoulders.]

No! No, I love it. [Is she talking about the mug or the mom thing? Who knows.]

[Too bad for Sigyn that Christine is going to make her come out and say it.]

Oh! Okay, um, does that mean I could call you that?

[Most don't know it, but at one point Sigyn did want children. Everything with Asgard and the resistance quickly squashed any hopes she had of having a family, especially after Loki 'died.' Who knew being kidnapped at the moment of her death, transported to a murder theater, killing someone, then being resurrected would be the thing that would finally unlock that dream.]

If...if you want to, if your mother doesn't mind- [The tears she had fought back earlier finally begin to spill over.] I would love that.

[Christine looks at Sigyn with a soft, worried smile, shaking her head.]

Shh, please don't cry. It's okay. I want to. Besides, I think my mom knows something important went on... and she knows I need this.

Mothers tend to know what their kids need. Like you always did with me, right?

They're happy tears, don't worry.

[Using the back of her hand, Sigyn wipes the tears away, keeping the other arm around Christine.]

I certainly tried, at least.

[Christine will just keep both arms firmly around Sigyn until she's finished crying.]

I don't think anyone would have expected you to do differently. You tried to protect us, and looked out for me when you were... gone. I mean, baking with me was certainly a pretty motherly thing to do. [A soft laugh.]
